In recent years, Hong Kong's economy has struggled, with key indicators declining. Some argue that Hong Kong has fallen behind across the board, even being overtaken by the Mainland. Meanwhile, misunderstandings between the Mainland and Hong Kong have multiplied. What exactly has happened to Hong Kong? How should it chart its future to maintain competitiveness? How should the Chinese government re-examine Hong Kong's role? Written by a Beijing-born scholar long resident in Hong Kong, this book spans his experiences from the colonial era and the handover to Occupy Central, with Hong Kong becoming his second home. Of the six chapters, the first three analyze deep-seated economic, social, and political issues; the latter three discuss future development directions and offer concrete recommendations. The aim is an objective analysis of Mainland-Hong Kong misunderstandings, offering readers another way to think about Hong Kong.
近年，香港經濟不景氣，各項指標都在下滑。有論香港已全面落後，甚至被內地趕超。同時，內地和香港在愈來愈多的事情上產生誤解，矛盾重重。究竟香港發生了什麼事？未來，香港應該怎樣制訂發展方向，以維持自己的競爭力？中央政府又應該以什麼樣的角度重新審視香港未來的角色？本書由一位久居香港的北京學者撰寫，親歷了港英政府時期、香港的回歸，然後看着香港一步步走到「佔中」，不經不覺，香港亦已成了他的第二故鄉。全書分六章，前三章從經濟、社會和政治三方面探討香港的深層問題；後三章主要討論香港未來的發展方向並提出一些實質建議。希望以客觀的角度，分析中港兩地之間的誤解，為讀者提供另一種思考香港的門徑。
