This document presents a temporal analysis of the scientific production originating at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.PORTO), its Organic Units, and research centers linked to P.PORTO, with the aim of offering reference frameworks for the past and present. This analysis focused on documents authored by P.PORTO faculty (including invited researchers), researchers (including grant holders), non-faculty staff, and students indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection and published between 2007 and 2021. Using these documents, a set of objective metrics was developed that allow characterizing the volume, thematic spectrum, collaborative activities, and the impact of P.PORTO's scientific production. Thus, this document aims to clarify the research developed at this institution for the P.PORTO community, and others who may be interested. This information can also be used in internal debate and in the definition of strategies that seek to improve and expand P.PORTO's research activities.
Este documento apresenta uma análise temporal da produção científica originada no Instituto Politécnico do Porto (P.PORTO), nas Unidades Orgânicas e nos centros de investigação com ligação ao P.PORTO, com o objetivo de oferecer marcos de referência sobre o passado e o presente.Esta análise incidiu sobre os documentos da autoria de docentes (incluindo convidados), inves-tigadores (incluindo bolseiros), não docentes, e estudantes do P.PORTO indexados na Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection e publicados entre 2007 e 2021. Utilizando estes documentos chegou-se a um conjunto de métricas objetivas que permitem caraterizar o volume, o espetro temático, as atividades de colaboração, e o impacto da produção científica do P.PORTO.Assim, este documento pretende esclarecer a comunidade do P.PORTO, e outras que possam ter interesse, acerca da investigação desenvolvida nesta instituição. Esta informação poderá também ser utilizada no debate interno e na definição de estratégias que procuram melhorar e expandir as atividades de investigação do P.PORTO
