Zusammenfassung:
The theme of this 94th volume is inspired by the advances in information technology. Within the spectrum of information technology, this volume touches several issues in security and software evolution. The volume is a collection of four chapters that were solicited from authorities in the field, each of whom brings to bear a unique perspective on the topic. Focuses on needs for modeling of system and information security in order to facilitate formal representation and analysis of security to identify and address the vulnerabilities. Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) as interactive protocols where one party (i.e., prover) can convince the other party (i.e., verifier) that some assertion is true without revealing anything other than the fact that the assertion being proven is true. The property of being convincing and yielding nothing except the assertion is valid making ZKPs very powerful tools for the design of secure cryptographic protocols. The zero-knowledge proofs have been used in many applications such as identity verification, authentication, key exchange, and enforcing the honest behavior while maintaining privacy. Outsourcing data to the “cloud” has numerous advantages such as cost effectiveness, flexibility, and off-loading of administrative overhead. These advantages come at the expense of data owner’s loss of control over the data (the cloud provider becomes a third-party service provider). Data encryption is a common practice to overcome this difficulty and protect the confidentiality of the outsourced data from the third-party provider. Address refactoring as a technique to improve design structure while preserving the external behavior of software systems after its delivery. Refactoring should be of interest to software designers since it eases the software maintenance. As noted by the article, in general, refactoring is performed.
