This weapon was used by the Austro-Hungarians, the Germans as well as by Russia, which used many captured guns in the early part of the war. It was quite simple in construction, robust in service and usually quite reliable. Its main drawback came from its basic design with a retarded-blowback action. It was a water cooled, belt-fed weapon that fired from a closed bolt. Rate of fire was 400 rounds per minute. Calibre: 8x50R Mannlicher and others. Weight: 20kg (gun body) plus 3kg (water) plus 20kg (tripod). Length: 1067mm. Barrel length: 527mm.
