Tenderness with which she nourished and brought him up, till able to shift for himself; the Language he learnt, and the Method he made use of for his Defence from the wild Beasts; an Account of the different Sorts of Provision, and manner of providing it; the Death of the old Roe, and his great Grief thereon; his extraordinary Surprize at meeting with Salandio a Mendicant Fryar, who came there to live a Hermit's Life; Salandio teaches him to speak, and instructs him in Religious Principles; Antonio proposes to go off the Island, which Salandio consents to; their Arrival at Goa, where he enjoys Ease, Plenty and Respect.
