Advertised in the Connecticut journal, New Haven, Oct. 31, 1787. - Attributed to Strong in: Bates, A.C. "Checklist of Connecticut almanacs." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society n.s. v. 24 (1914): 102, 129. - Comparison with the almanac published simultaneously at Hartford under Strong's own name, An astronomical diary, kalender, or almanack, for 1788, shows that both are by the same hand. The predictions of eclipses and other celestial phenomena on the second page of each almanac are close versions of each other, and the aspects and other astronomical notes on the calendar pages are practically identical. The calculations vary slightly, in part, reflecting the difference in meridian between Hartford and New Haven for which the two almanacs were respectively calculated. - Drake, M.
